You know I’m a traveler, and back in the day I used travel with my favorite client, OneHope, directing and writing their videos.
It was on such a trip I met a little girl named Tiffany — on the day the workmen came to repossess her roof. We’d been shooting video at her school, and she invited us home.
She didn’t know her parents had failed to pay for the scrap shingles on their hand-built squatter’s dwelling in a devastatingly poor slum outside Lima, Peru.
Her Mom was humiliated we had witnessed the dismantling of their house. Her dad didn’t yet know about it — he was an alcoholic and stayed kind of wasted.
But that day, Tiffany had received a life-changing book at school, the Book of Hope. It introduced her to Jesus Christ. Find out more about the book and its worldwide impact here.
Later, Tiffany, her mom, and siblings all began following Christ ... and pretty soon her dad did, too. He started going to church, stopped drinking, got a job ... and soon was able to move his family out of the slum and into a home with a real roof.
I believe in the transforming power of God’s Word because I’ve seen the results.
This year, Mike and I made a faith commitment to help provide the Word of God for kids like Tiffany, all over the world.
We made this commitment in February, before my work hours and pay were significantly cut. So I’m inviting friends like you to help.
OneHope develops amazing Scripture engagement tools like the Book of Hope that are shared by local churches like the faith community that helped Tiffany and her family.
And it takes just 33¢ to reach one child or youth with God’s Word. Every dollar touches 3 young lives!
Our goal is $4,500 to bring hope to 13,500 more children and youth like Tiffany this year.
We’ve already given an initial $450, and we’re looking for 9 more people to do the same … or for 90 more to give $45 or whatever tax-deductible gift you can give.
Thank you for checking out the site, and then giving generously. We really, really appreciate it! You'll be giving directly to the OneHope ministry and receive from them a receipt for your taxes. Thank you again!
To the right here is the navigation bar for my online novel Dragonfly. When you finish with OneHope, feel free to check it out!
